Trivia[]
- This is the first episode of a few things:
- The first production in which Pa Grape is voiced by Joe Zieja and the first production in which he is voiced by someone other than Phil Vischer since A Very Veggie Christmas Live!.
- The first production to feature The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything since their 2008 theatrical movie (not counting a picture cameo in Noah's Ark).
- The first episode of Very Veggie Silly Stories to feature a special guest who isn't one of the main characters.
- The first production to feature a guest starring person since Noah's Ark.
- The first production to feature Dr. Flurry since Don't Stop Believing.
- The first episode of Very Veggie Silly Stories where Mr. Lunt does not interact with and translate animals.
- The first episode to have the song play before the commercial.
- The first episode to have a game show segment since Don’t Stop Believing.
- The first production to feature Junior as a member of the Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything (not counting the book The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything and Me!).
- This is the second episode to have a game show hosted by Mr. Lunt, after A Tale of True Courage.
Remarks[]
- Junior appears to be a member of the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything in this episode. However, he was never shown to be a member in any of their previous appearances, with the possible exception of the book, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything and Me!, where he trains to become a member of the aptly-named pirates.
- In this episode, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything (the song) starts just before the Pirates first start singing and finishes after their last singing line, thus completely cutting off the Announcer's opening line and the Pirates' ending dialogue.
Inside References[]
- The Waiting Game (the title of Mr. Lunt's game in this episode) was previously used as the title for one of the songs from On the Road with Bob & Larry.
- The music that plays at the beginning of this segment also has a similar melody to You Are The One! from Jonah's Overboard Sing Along.
- Alex shares his name with a kid Bob and Larry received a letter from in the TV version of King George and the Ducky.
- The American Water Buffalo Association and Buffalots are obvious callbacks to The Water Buffalo Song. Larry even references some of the song's lyrics before the commercial for the latter plays.
- Also, during the Buffalots commercial itself, the announcer states that the only thing they don't have is lima beans on the floor. This is a reference to another one of the song's lyrics: "Spilled some lima beans on the floor".
- A snippet of the VeggieTales Remix version of this song is also heard at the end of the commercial.
- Also, during the Buffalots commercial itself, the announcer states that the only thing they don't have is lima beans on the floor. This is a reference to another one of the song's lyrics: "Spilled some lima beans on the floor".
Real-World References[]
- Buffalots' name could be based off of either Save-a-Lot (a chain of grocery stores) or Big Lots (a retail company).
