Trivia[]
- This is the first episode for several things:
- The first episode to be directed by Tod Carter.
- The first episode since The Best Christmas Gift:
- To be written by Phil Vischer and not be based on a fruit of the spirit.
- Where Mr. Lunt's teeth are shown.
- The first episode to feature Dr. Flurry since It's Cool to Be Kind.
- The first episode where Pa Grape narrates the story since When Being Good Means Giving Up, and the first episode where he narrates overall since Little Things Matter.
- The first time someone other than Junior plays David (not counting King George and the Ducky, which was an adaptation of the story of David and Bathsheba). In this case, Larry is the one who plays David.
- The first episode not to have a break in the middle of the story since A ShakeSparagus Play.
- The first non-LarryBoy episode not to feature Junior (not counting the theme song).
- The first episode where Archibald has a role in the story that isn't the narrator since It's Cool to Be Kind.
- The first episode of The VeggieTales Show to feature a Big "NO!", and the first episode to feature one overall since Arcade Showdown.
- The first time Dr. Flurry sings in The VeggieTales Show, and the first time he sings overall since his debut in The League of Incredible Vegetables.
- This is the last episode for a few things:
- The last episode to be released in 2020.
- The last episode released during the time American president Donald Trump was in office. When the next episode was released, Joe Biden was already in office.
- The last episode to have David Mann voice Mr. Nezzer until LarryBoy and the Angry Eyebrows Trouble.
- This episode was released exactly 52 years after former Big Idea employee Keith Lango was born.
Remarks[]
- Larry acts like he's just heard about the internet, despite knowing about it previously.
- Wisdom is easily searchable on the internet, despite Larry stating otherwise.
- The "A Lesson in" subtitle does not appear on the episode's title card.
- Petunia acknowledges the pizza having sausage, despite the fact that anything related to pork is unclean to the Jewish (a fact that would be acknowledged in a later episode).
- In the actual Bible story, Nabal died 10 days after he got drunk while Abagail told him everything about his foolishness.
Goofs[]
- Pa Grape's glasses change color multiple times throughout the episode.
- After the introduction scene of David, one of the sheep slides off the stage without moving, as everyone else exits the stage and the set changes behind them.
- When Jimmy says "You and what army?", his voice isn't pitch-shifted.
- Towards the end of Smart Like Me, Archibald's mouth is out of sync with the lyrics.
- When David plans to attack Nabal, the peas are of a lighter shade.
- In Great to Be Wise, Petunia's singing is out of sync during the end of the song.
- Before Jean-Claude gives Bob the fortune cookie, it is present on the stage floating by itself.
- When Bob is reading the verse, Jean-Claude's eyes are bigger.
- There are a few mistakes made in the credits:
- Lisa Vischer is credited for voicing Junior Asparagus, even though he doesn't appear in this episode (not counting the theme song).
- Joe Zieja isn't credited for voicing Dr. Flurry.
Inside References[]
- When the veggies ask Larry different questions at the beginning of the episode, Archibald brings up the War of 1812, which is an apparent callback to God Wants Us to Make Peace.
- Madame Blueberry mentions her "prized pelargonium" from Little Things Matter.
- The story of Nabal and Abigail continues the story of David and Jonathan, also from Little Things Matter.
- Several costumes are re-used or re-colored from previous episodes:
- Archibald's Nabal costume is re-used from It's Cool to Be Kind.
- Petunia's Abigail costume is a re-colored version of costumes she wore in previous episodes.
- Larry's David costume is a re-colored version of costumes he wore in previous episodes.
- Jimmy and Jerry's lab coat costumes are re-used from a couple of previous episodes. Additionally, their bandit costumes are re-used from The Power of Love, albeit with added bandit masks.
- An instrumental rendition of What Have We Learned is heard when Madame Blueberry and Pa Grape talk about knowledge.
