- The way Ichabeezer got mad at Rooney for attempting to mail the Puppy and then Ichabeezer getting after the puppy for chewing his slippers and then starts to regret it and really regret how the treated Rooney only after he left and they're reunited in the end and forgiven, head for home would be pretty similar to Larry's Lagoon.

- Rooney attempting to mail the puppy away after putting it in a box, only to be stopped by Ichabeezer, is similar to to the Garfield comics and the Garfield and Friends TV series, where Garfield always tries to get rid of Nermal by mailing him to Abu Dhabi but fails every single time. It is also reminiscent of the film, "the Aristocats," in which a man mails the cats to Timbuktu.
- This episode is similar to the SpongeBob episode: Where's Gary, where SpongeBob is harsh with Gary and neglects him, then Gary runs away and SpongeBob looks everywhere for him and reunute at the end just like with Ichabeezer and Rooney.
