The One and Only You! is the eighteenth episode of The VeggieTales Show, which teaches a lesson in being loved.

Summary

Larry, Junior and Laura went to a parade and came back to tell all of their Veggie buddies about the marching bands, balloons and the many interesting and important people in the parade like a fireman, a policeman and even an astronaut.  Meanwhile Laura admits that she sometimes feels pretty ordinary.  She wonders if God sees her and cares about her.  It’s through the story of Peter and Cornelius that Laura learns that God's love is for EVERYONE and that he cares about each one of us.

• A few costumes and sets are reused from previous episodes:
  • Archibald's costume is reused from It's Cool to Be Kind and The Wonderfulness of Wisdom. The French Peas' helmets are also re-used from the former episode.
    • Additionally, Archibald reprises his role as Peter from the former episode.
      • The set of Peter's house is also re-used from the latter episode.
  • Mr. Lunt's circus costume is re-used from the Wanna Wallaby song from Little Things Matter.
• Jimmy mentions Burger Bell at the beginning of the episode. This is the first time it has been mentioned since The Best Christmas Gift.
• Junior being trapped to his death until another character (in this case, Bob) is sacrificed in his place had also occurred in Larry-Boy! and the Fib from Outer Space!
• Mr. Lunt being confused on what keys turn off the cannon is a nod to King George and the Ducky, where Jimmy has similar trouble figuring out the right keys to press in order to turn on Qwerty.
• The fact that the Romans were the enemies of the Jews in addition to being unclean is a possible reference to Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, where the Ninevites were described with similar characteristics.
• Larry mentions Barbara Manatee in the "Alligator Family" song.
• The truck that the alligator rides in during the "Alligator Family" song is re-used from LarryBoy and the Cape-Coat Caper.
• The exclamation that Larry makes when he bumps into the ladder when he tries to help Bob catch Junior is taken from a few previous episodes. This also occurs when Larry is attacked by the alligator during Alligator Family.
• Archibald's line "How do I put this?" is nearly identical to one of his lines from Are You My Neighbor?
  • Another one of his lines "Good heavens!" had also been previously uttered in The Star of Christmas.

Real-World References

• When everyone begins speaking different languages, Jerry says "Hakuna Matata", a Swahili phrase meaning "no worries" made popular by the song of the same name in The Lion King.
