Big Idea Wiki

This is the design evolution for The Countertop.

Image Info Created Appearances What's Changed?/Notes
First design 1991-1994 From Mr. Cuke's Screen Test to God Wants Me to Forgive Them!?! The background is light yellow. The bricks are yellow and pink. During Mr. Cuke's Screen Test and VeggieTales Promo: Take 38, the canisters have text labeled on them, each one form left to right reading "TEA", "SUGAR" and "FLOUR".

Starting with Where's God When I'm S-Scared?, the canisters have lost their text. Coucho was originally going to appear on the show, but due to technical difficulties with the character, he was replaced by Qwerty in the final. Qwerty also took the spot where the pink ceramic bowl from Mr. Cuke's Screen Test was at.

Beginning in God Wants Me to Forgive Them!?!, a plugin outlet is added to the wall and also more of the kitchen is physically revealed. The cabinetry and drawers are light wooden brown with a round handle. The pink canister in the back of the countertop corner is also flatter and smaller, and sits a few inches away from touching the right corner of the wall.

Second design 1995-2009 From Are You My Neighbor?  to Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella The countertop is slightly redesigned with more realistic-looking wooden cabinetry in a darker wooden-brown color. A kitchen sink is also added.

By the time Rack, Shack and Benny was produced, the white outlines of the countertop tiles were slightly thicker, and the small pink canister is now placed to the right corner of the countertop next to the wall and is now the same size of the other pink canister.

Starting with King George and the Ducky, the canisters, plugin outlet, and the kitchen sink are designed cartoony, replacing their symmetrical design for the first time. The canister in the back corner is also removed.

Third design 2010-2014, 2020 From Pistachio - The Little Boy That Woodn't  to Everyone Counts!

The background changes from light yellow to blue. In Pistachio - The Little Boy That Woodn't, the countertop had throw pillows, which were removed the following episode. In Veggies in Space: The Fennel Frontier, the wall has green stars.

Starting in 2020, the lighting is slightly darker, and the tiles have more bumps on them.

Noah'sArk1 Fourth design 2014 and 2015 VeggieTales in the House (beginning of theme song); Noah's Ark; The background changes from blue to teal with dark blue dots.

The canisters have also regained their shine effect and are redesigned yet again. The bricks are now poorly misaligned.
