The Ballad of Jonah is a song that was featured on Pirates' Boat Load Of Fun and is a parody of the popular theme song for Gilligan's Island. It is sung by Mr. Lunt.
Lyrics[]
Mr. Lunt: It goes something like this.
Mr. Lunt and Kids: Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this Joppa port
Aboard a tiny ship
A man named Jonah heard the Lord
But ran the other way
For Tarsish, they set sail
But it was not their lucky day (Mr. Lunt: Ho!)
Not their lucky day
The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed
To find out who the culprit was,
They decided to cast lots
Decided to cast lots
For Jonah didn't stand a chance,
The crew knew what to do
They threw him in the raging sea
To certainly end his life
But as you know
A whale below swallowed him whole
In the belly of the whale
Mr. Lunt: But a-now, wait, I'm not done yet. Here we go!
Mr. Lunt and Kids: No phone, no lights, no motor cars,
Not a single luxury,
Like Robinson Crusoe,
It's primitive as can be.
Three days and nights inside the whale,
He took a prayerful stance
Then heaved and feeling quite relieved,
He got his second chance
So off he went to Nineveh,
So goes this Bible tale
Jonah found God's mercy
In the belly of the whale
Jonah found God's mercy
In the belly of the whale
Mr. Lunt: Ah! What a great story! I made it myself. Not really. It's biblical!
