Tales from the Crisper is the first segment of the VeggieTales episode Where's God When I'm S-Scared?, and the very first story of the series.
Plot[]
Junior Asparagus is watching a late night Frankencelery movie before being told by his mother (Lisa Asparagus) that it's time for bed. As he walks upstairs, he is in denial over whether or not the movie frightens him, but he soons imagines his family portrait coming to life and dashes to his bedroom in fear.
In his bedroom, Bob and Larry soon emerge and begin to explain how God is bigger and that there is no need to be afraid. Frankencelery (Phil Winklestein) soon appears, which frightens Junior. He soon explains he is merely an actor from Toledo, Ohio whose job is to scare as part of his career. The lesson, in song, causes Junior's father (Mike Asparagus) to come in and ask what's going on after Bob, Larry, and Phil disappear. Junior explains he knows God and is no longer afraid. While his dad is impressed that Junior has been doing some thinking, he tells him to be careful about what he watches in the future and shuts off the lights.
