Lyrics[]
2002 version[]
Kid #1: My brother lost my favorite toy, which makes me really mad.
I want to yell and scream out loud and treat him oh so bad.
But then I think of Jesus who forgives me every day.
He shows me that He loves me and tells me what to say:
He says to
Kids: Stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance,
And so I stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance.
Kid #2: My sister really bugs me. She always wants her way.
I'm tired of giving in to her, I want to say, "No way!"
But then I think of Jesus who forgives me every day.
He shows me that He loves me and tells me what to say:
He says to
Kids: Stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance,
And so I stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance.
Kid #3: My buddy broke a promise he made the other day.
Now I don't want to trust him or be his friend today.
But then I think of Jesus who forgives me every day.
He shows me that He loves me and tells me what to say:
He says to
Kids: Stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance,
And so I stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance.
Kid #4: My cousin pushed me down a hill and made me hurt my knee.
It doesn't matter what she says. I wish she'd leave me be.
But then I think of Jesus who forgives me every day.
He shows me that He loves me and tells me what to say:
He says to
Kids: Stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance,
And so I stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance.
Kid #4: And give 'em a second chance.

Larry: Yeah. You know what? I hear you guys. I know what you're saying. You know, I got my own little story here. I had this friend once. Let me tell you.
My buddy broke a promise he made the other day.
Now I don't want to trust him or be his friend today.
But then I think of Jesus who forgives me every day.
He shows me that He loves me and tells me what to say:
All: He says to stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance,
And so I stop - and go with mercy
And give 'em a second chance.
He says to stop (Junior: Do-do-do)
And go with mercy (Junior/Jimmy: And go with mercy/Mercy, mercy)
And give 'em a second chance, (Junior: God gives a chance now)
And so I stop - and go with mercy (Jimmy: Mercy, mercy)
And give 'em a second chance.
And give 'em a second chance.
Jimmy: Yeah!
