Sony Pictures Kids Zone (formerly known as Sony Kids Music/Video and Sony Wonder) is the childrens' and family entertainment arm of Sony Music Entertainment founded in February 1992. They are widely known for distributing kids titles from Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, and Classic Media among others. The company eventually shut down in March 2007 and became a division of their main entertainment label (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment) about three months later. The distribution rights of all their titles were bought by Genius Products.

Despite the similarity in name, Sony Wonder is not directly related to the former Sony Wonder Technology Lab, an interactive technology and entertainment museum, although the museum was also owned by Sony.

Because Big Idea was bought by Classic Media, they distributed episodes of VeggieTales and LarryBoy: The Cartoon Adventures from 2004 to 2006.

Goofs

Esther2004VHSGoof

Several goofs are shown on a rare copy of the 2004 Sony Wonder VHS.

  • On a rare copy of the 2004 Sony Wonder VHS of Esther... The Girl Who Became Queen, there are several goofs on the front cover (see image):
    • Though it may not be considered a goof, the cover is re-used from the 2002 Warner Home Video VHS.
    • All the characters aside from Esther are lower than usual. This causes Mordecai to be slightly hidden by the "A Lesson In..." box, and causes Haman to be hidden by the critic review.
    • The background pattern from the back cover slightly overlaps onto the top of the front cover, overlapping half of the VeggieTales logo.
  • On the 2004 Sony Wonder DVD of Josh and the Big Wall!, the 1991 Sony Wonder logo is used on the disc instead of the ribbon logo seen on the cover, despite being reprinted in 2004.
