Sing Along with VeggieTales is a personalized CD released by Just Me! Music in November 18, 2003.

Description

Sing Along with VeggieTales is formatted similarly to the VeggieTales Sing-Along series of CDs where the characters speak at the beginning of the CD and in between songs. However, it is different in that the characters address the listener of the CD by name according to the name listed on the CD label. The overall premise is relatively simple with the listener of the CD acting as Larry's, Bob's, and later Junior's new friend with all three characters singing along with the listener.

Changes

In addition to Bob, Larry, and Junior addressing the listener by name in the spoken interludes, all of the songs had their lyrics changed in some form to include the listener's name. The list of changes are as follows:

• VeggieTales Theme Song: The first part of the song appears to have been entirely re-recorded. The lines “If you like to talk to tomatoes” and "If you like to waltz with potatoes" were respectively changed to “If (name) likes to talk to tomatoes” and "If (name) likes to waltz with potatoes".
• If You're Happy and You Know It: The first "If you're happy and you know it" in the first and second verses was changed to "If you're happy, (name)".
• He's Got the Whole World in His Hands: Instead of Larry asking Bob if he remembers the story of Jesus calming the storm with His hand, Larry asks the listener if they remember. All of Bob's lines in that interlude are also removed.
• The Hokey Pokey: The first "Let's do the hokey pokey. Let's do the hokey pokey" is replaced by "(Name) does the hokey pokey. You do the hokey pokey".
• I Can Be Your Friend: The first "I can be your friend" was changed to "(Name) can be your friend" in the first chorus. The first chorus is also repeated, lyric change included, before transitioning to the second verse. During the instrumental break just after the key change, Junior has an additional spoken line: "Hey! You're doing great! You make singing this song really, really super fun!" This line replaces Jimmy's scatting in the original version.
• God is So Good: The first two instances of "He's so good to me" were changed to "He's so good to (name) and me".
• Thankfulness Song: Both times the chorus is sung, the line "Because a thankful heart is a happy heart" becomes "Because (name)'s heart is a happy heart".
• Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star: The original lyrics are kept intact. However, a new verse was added at the end that goes as follows:

Twinkle, twinkle, it's the end

Singing songs with our new friend

(Name), won't you come and play

With all of us another day

Twinkle, twinkle, it's the end

But we're glad that you're our friend

Trivia

• Aside from the theme song, each song is either taken from Bob & Larry's Backyard Party, Bob & Larry's Sunday Morning Songs, or Junior's Bedtime Songs.
• Phil Vischer stated in a live Facebook interview that this and Silly Songs with VeggieTales were the most painful experiences he had as a voice actor. This was because he had to repeat every line from a song on a loop, and in each loop he had to use one out of 1,500 names. He even stated that each individual line took 6 hours to record.
