Richard C. Leach (August 24, 1927 — May 29, 2001) was the former chairman of Lyrick Studios.
He met with Phil Vischer and Bill Haljun in 1997 to discuss mass-market distribution rights for VeggieTales. Phil admired Richard, mostly because of his strong faith in Christianity. When Richard sold Lyrick Studios to HiT Entertainment in 2001, this shocked Big Idea, due to the fact that he felt Lyrick should remain an independent company.
On May 29, 2001, not long after Lyrick Studios was sold, Richard died due to head trauma. He was 73 years old. [1]
