Narrator (Steve McKenzie): Coming this summer from VeggieTales, "Princess and the Popstar"!
Princess: My name is Princess Poppyseed.
Narrator (Steve McKenzie): Princess Poppyseed's life on the family farm doesn't exactly fit her dreams of being a popstar!
Dad: You're like a dairy queen.
Princess: How awesome would it be to hear yourself singing on the radio, be adored by millions of fans, wear fancy clothes and be in a cool music video?
Narrator (Steve McKenzie): But singing sensation, Vanna Banana's glamorous life isn't so perfect either!
Vanna: What's so great about being special if it means I'm always alone...?
Narrator (Steve McKenzie): Then a chance meeting leads to a crazy idea!
Princess: We look exactly the same.
Vanna: It's like looking into a mirror!
Princess and Vanna: Why don't we give it a try?!
Narrator (Steve McKenzie): Will living someone else's life really get them what they want? Find out in "VeggieTales: Princess and the Popstar: A Story About Trading Places"!
Dad: Trade places? That's impossible!
Narrator (Steve McKenzie): Coming to DVD August 2011!
Trailer[]
(Rooster crows)
Princess: Hi! My name is Princess Poppyseed! I live on my family's pie farm with my mom and dad...
Paprika: This is our house too!
Princess: ...and my three sisters. We have a lot of animals. Ugh, and how could I forget, my little brother Pepper.
Pepper: YAYYY--
(He stands and bonks his head under the table.)
Princess: My life's pretty good, but I've always dreamed about being a popstar like the incredibly awesome Vanna Banana!
Vanna: ...sweet life-- but that’s not everything!
Rockin' Robin: Only Vanna Banana could have everything she wants, and still want more. Oh snap!
Vanna: What's so great about being special if it means I'm always alone? Is there something somewhere... A special someplace out there…?
Princess: Who would have thought that I would one day not only meet Vanna Banana, but I would have a chance to be Vanna Banana? (stops narrating) We look exactly the same.
Vanna: It's like looking into a mirror!
Princess and Vanna: Why don't we give it a try?!
Princess: (narrating again) I finally got a chance to make my dreams come true and Vanna got a chance to live a normal life like she always wanted.
Vanna: (happy gasp) Oh!!
Mom: God uses the good times and the tough times to make us who He wants us to be. Every life has both.
Princess: But things aren't turning out quite like we thought they would...
Mrs. Banana: What happened to her voice?
Princess: but that’s not everything!
(Her sudden octave jump breaks the pianist’s glasses)
Pianist: Agh...I gotta get Lasik…
Princess: ...and Vanna's having a few troubles of her own.
Vanna: How hard could this be?
(The cow kicks Dad offscreen.)
Parsley: I don't understand!
Vanna: I'm not Princess.
Paprika, Parsley, and Pepper: WHAT?!
Papaya: (absentminded) Whaaat…?
Dad: Everybody! In the truck!!
(Everyone hops to the old-fashioned family pickup. All the kids hop in the back.)
Vanna: Let’s go bring Princess home!
Princess: Now things are getting really crazy!
Pepper: PRINCESS! HEEELLLPP!!!
Princess: Huh? (starts narrating again) Seems like trading places wasn't such a good idea after all. (stops narrating again) God made Vanna to be Vanna, and He made me to be me!
Dad: (to Rusty) I taught her that.
Princess: (narrating one more time) See how it all turns out in "Princess and the Popstar", a lesson about being yourself! From VeggieTales!
Princess and Vanna: It’s right where I belong!
(The two girls hug as we iris out.)
