Patience Takes Practice is the ninth episode of The VeggieTales Show, which teaches a lesson in patience.
Summary[]
Larry has a great idea for an upcoming show: the story of the Wright Brothers and their invention of the airplane. Larry loves airplanes! Bob likes the idea a lot but he gets terribly impatient with everyone while putting together the show. Bob’s can’t wait attitude creates all kinds of chaos and hurt feelings amongst the crew. Petunia has an idea on how to fix all the trouble on set and rallies the Veggies to perform the story of Noah. Noah was a man who had to do a lot of waiting and while he waited he learned to be patient. From Noah, Bob learned that patience takes practice and that in the end how you treat your friends matter most!

Trivia[]
- This is the first episode for a few things:
- The first episode to be written by Mike Nawrocki of The VeggieTales Show and the first episode he wrote overall since The Audition.
- The first episode where Bob uses one of Larry's ideas for a show.
- The first episode where Larry reads the verse at the end of the episode.
- The first episode where Mr. Lunt doesn't speak.
- The first episode where Phillipe speaks since A ShakeSparagus Play.
- The first episode where Archibald narrates both segments since A ShakeSparagus Play.
- The first episode Petunia calls Jerry by name since LarryBoy and the Bad Apple.
- This was released exactly 20 years after Esther... The Girl Who Became Queen.
- This is the second episode where Bob has a role in the Bible story, after When Being Good Means Giving Up.
Remarks[]
- It is never explained how Jean-Claude was able to make a workable, safe wooden plane despite being rushed.
Goofs[]
- When Jimmy yells, "Fly, Orville, fly!" on the beach, his voice isn't pitch-shifted.
- There are several instances of either the characters' eyes floating above their noses, or their noses below their eyes (see image).
- When Pa first enters the stage as Noah, the sound of the curtains opening does not sync with the curtains' movement.
- Stephanie Southerland is not credited for voicing Madame Blueberry. Likewise, Mr. Lunt is shown with Phil Vischer’s list of characters despite not speaking.
- During The Patience Song, some of the characters' voices are not heard at certain points, even though their mouths are seen moving. This also applies to Mr. Lunt throughout the song.
- Also, during the song, Jimmy and Jerry's mouths don't move when they sing "They'd take hasty actions".
Inside References[]
- Because this episode retells the story of Noah's ark, there are a few references to the episode of the same name:
- The cardboard cut-out of the ark looks similar to the ark in said episode, albeit brown instead of orange.
- The cut-outs of the animals inside the ark use the same designs as the animals in the episode.
- Pa and Larry reprise their roles as Noah and Ham respectively.
- Madame Blueberry and Petunia reprise their roles as the wives respectively.
- Bob apologizing to the veggies is similar to when he apologized in God Wants Us to Make Peace.
- Madame Blueberry, Petunia, and Miss Achmetha's wife costumes are re-used from costumes worn in previous episodes.
- Pa's Noah costume is a re-colored version of costumes he wore in previous episodes.
- The first two lines in each chorus of Spokes and a Dream have the same melody as one of the ending lyrics of the More Beautiful reprise.
Real-World References[]
- Jean-Claude and Phillipe saying "Ze plane, ze plane!" is a reference to the television series, Fantasy Island.
- Jimmy and Jerry's Orville and Wilbur outfits are similar to the ones worn by the Wright brothers themselves in the This Is America, Charlie Brown episode, "The Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk".
- Several times during the Noah segment, an instrumental of the song "Rise and Shine" is heard. This was also heard in a couple of previous productions.
