Fun Facts[]

Trivia[]

  • This was released on the same month as the home video release of Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie.
  • This marks the first speaking roles for The Peasall Sisters (Sarah, Hannah, and Leah).
  • The album is dedicated Phil Vischer's great-grandfather, Reverend R.R. Brown from Omaha, Nebraska. Reverend Brown, who sings One Lord, is even named after him.
  • This album contains 16 songs instead of 15 like the other Sing-Alongs albums, even though the last song is merely a reprise of the first song.
  • All of the songs in this album are completely original, as none of them have been featured in any previous VeggieTales albums or productions of any sort.

Remarks[]

  • The split-track versions of Old Time Religion and Amazing Grace have certain parts removed for unknown reasons.
  • In the middle of Standing in the Need of Prayer, Junior refers to himself by his regular name rather than his character's name for this album.

Inside References[]

Real-World References[]

  • The "It's-a-Me" in "Standin' in a Need of Prayer" is most likely a reference to Super Mario Bros.
  • The title and cover reference the 2000 film, O Brother, Where Art Thou? In addition, the cover art references a scene near the end of the movie, where the main characters, Everett, Pete, Delmar, and Tommy, put on fake beards and perform In the Jailhouse Now and Man of Constant Sorrow.
    • Junior's character and his pet toad are also named after the former two.

Fast Forward[]

  • Hand shadows on the wall would later be in Sorry, We're Closed Today.
  • Mr. Lunt would later be called Otis in an episode.
  • River Medley was later sung in Bob & Larry's Toddler Songs, albeit with Mr. Nezzer's acapella solo of "Down To The River to Pray" cut and replaced by a piano rendition of "I've Got Peace Like a River."
  • An instrumental version of Ezekiel Saw the Wheel was later heard in the PS2 version of the LarryBoy and the Bad Apple video game.
  • The artwork on the album cover was later seen in Perfect Puppy.
