This, along with Bob and Larry's Toddler Songs, was released to promote Duke and the Great Pie War.
The audio from Promised Land is assumed to be re-used from the version heard in the 2002 VeggieTales Live! show, as Junior. Jimmy, Jerry, and Pa Grape sung this version of the song and the music was composed by Christopher Davis, both of which occurred in VeggieTales Live!.

The promo for this album uses the normal version of Promised Land, while the actual album uses the 2002 version of that song.
- It also shows He's Got the Whole World in His Hands and I've Got Peace Like a River in the list of songs included in this album, even though neither of those songs are featured in this album.
- It also lists Open Up the Bible as "The Bible Song" and I Will Sing of The Mercies of the Lord Forever/Leaning on the Everlasting Arms as "What a Might God/I Will Sing of Mercies". These might have been working titles for both songs.

In Who Built the Ark?, it is said that Noah built the Ark out of hickory bark. This is not exactly true, as he actually built it out of gopher wood.
During Gospel Ship, Mr. Lunt's line "I'm playin' it! I'm playin" it!" is not pitch-shifted.
During I Will Sing of The Mercies of the Lord Forever/Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, Junior's voice sounds different when he says "Okay." This may be because either Phil or Mike voiced him in this part, possibly due to Lisa being unavailable or not having enough time to record her voice for that specific line.
- A similar instance occurred in the scene before My Day in The Wonderful World of Auto-Tainment!

As this is a sequel to Bob & Larry's Sunday Morning Songs, Bob acknowledges that he and Larry have sung Sunday morning songs before and are now singing some more.
At the beginning of the album, Larry mentions that someone named Mr. Moore was his Cub Sprout leader in the first grade. This is a likely callback to the aptly named troop from The Mystery of Veggie Island.
- Larry also mentions a kid in his fifth grade class whose name he believed to be Moose. This may be a possible reference to Moose Lake, the city in Minnesota that has been acknowledged a few times previously in the series.
Archibald makes references to The Water Buffalo Song, The Song of the Cebú, and The Hairbrush Song between Jacob's Ladder and I've Got Shoes.
- Later, before Jonah Was a Prophet, he acknowledges his own portrayal as Jonah from the movie about Jonah.
God's Love was previously sung in Junior's Bedtime Songs.
Mr. Nezzer saying "That was beautiful" after God's Love is a nod to one of his lines from his debut.

Home Depot is an American home improvement retail corporation that sells mainly tools and construction parts.
In I Am a Promise, after Junior says "You are too, Larry," Larry responds with "You talking to me?" This is a likely reference to the 1976 film, Taxi Driver.
- This line was previously uttered by Midgel in the 3-2-1 Penguins! episode, The Amazing Carnival of Complaining.
In Jacob's Ladder, Jerry quotes the iconic "I'm ready for my closeup" line from the 1950 film, Sunset Boulevard.
