- This is the last LarryBoy episode to feature The French Peas, Jerry Gourd, Pa Grape, and Mr. Nezzer to date.
- This was released exactly 19 years after Jonah Sing-Along Songs and More! and 8 years after MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle and a year after When Being Good Means Giving Up.
- This was the eleventh episode in production, while it was the nineteenth episode released.
- There were several differences between pre-production and the final product:
- The music was going to be composed by Michael Demus. Had this been unchanged, this would have been the first episode to be composed by Demus since LarryBoy and the Cape-Coat Caper.
- This episode was going to use a different intro that used some of the lyrics from (and would have been a remixed version of) the original LarryBoy theme song, along with a different clip montage.
- Some of the background citizens would have kept their original voices throughout the episode (i.e. the green citizen with the blue sweater and the citizen with the periwinkle shirt).
- The music during LarryBoy's training montage would have ended abruptly during the scene where LarryBoy throws up, but then resumes when he continues his training.
- Mike Nawrocki was originally going to voice Krazy Kenny, thus reprising his role from Celery Night Fever. Mike would eventually voice Kenny again in LarryBoy and the Menacing Mushroom.
- Some scenes of Alfred were going to be close-ups of him as opposed to Alfred being shown on the LarryMobile's screen. Examples of this include the scene where he says "There is another possibility for this unique pocket of pleasure.", and the scene where he says "Those eyebrows could be tricky."
- The citizens were going to be heard cheering when LarryBoy lands with the captured eyebrows.
- There was going to be an extra scene where Alfred says "Keep Alvin distracted. Try to get in line with the cockpit." This was likely cut out in the final product due to time reasons.
- LarryBoy's plunger would have been seen drawing back after LarryBoy releases the angry eyebrows on Alvin.
- The citizen that shouts "Aw, you're speaking the truth, LarryBoy!" was going to have a different voice, which would have sounded very similar to Jean-Claude's.
- A different shot was going to be used at the end of the episode.
Remarks[]
- The new LarryBoy intro shows footage from unreleased episodes at the time, including LarryBoy and the Emperor of Envy, which would not be released until roughly three months after this episode, and LarryBoy and the Menacing Mushroom, which would not be released until about a few months after that.
- Jean-Claude and Philippe's slushies would have melted by the time their eyebrows popped off.
- The "A Lesson in" subtitle does not appear on the episode's title card. This is the first time this happens since Forgiveness Brings the Fixing.
- Scooter is present when Mayor Blueberry announces the start of the happiness parade, but in the next scene after when he shouts, "Three cheers for Bumblyburg!", he is seen walking alongside a citizen in another part of Bumblyburg.
- One of the citizens shouts at another citizen for stepping on his shoe, but, as a carrot, he doesn't have any shoes.
- One of the citizens' voices sounds very similar to Archibald/Alfred when he shouts "Watch it, speed freak!" Likewise, the citizen that shouts "Aw, you're speaking the truth, LarryBoy!" has a Jimmy-esque voice.
Goofs[]
- LarryBoy's voice is not pitch-shifted during the intro.
- When Mayor Blueberry says "If you're happy, say Bumblyburg!", a citizen on the right side of the screen shakes jerkily a few times.
- In the close-up of Lampy in the alley, one of the cars that passes by in the background is seen driving in reverse.
- When Jimmy says "Hey! You're eating my tutti-frutti coconut curry cream!", his mouth is out of sync during some parts of this line.
- In the same scene, Jerry's mouth is moving as if he were saying "No!", but nothing actually comes out of his mouth.
- Some of the background citizens' voices change throughout the episode, including the green citizen with the blue sweater and the citizen with the periwinkle shirt.
- When Alfred tells LarryBoy to push the yellow button, some buildings can be seen passing through in the upper left corner as if LarryBoy were driving past them. However, LarryBoy was actually flying the LarryPlane during that scene.
- There were a couple of mistakes in the pre-produced version that were eventually fixed in the final product:
- Pa Grape's voice is heard repeating Alfred's rhyme during the scene with Jimmy, Jerry, and Oscar. The final version has LarryBoy saying this instead.
- When LarryBoy's says "They've separated!", he has Alfred's voice.
- When LarryBoy repeats Alfred's rhyme for the final time, Scooter slides a few times until his walk cycle begins. His right eyebrow is also the same color as his skin.
- Kira Buckland is not credited for voicing Laura. Likewise, Krazy Kenny is not listed with Phil Vischer's list of characters.
Inside References[]
- The new LarryBoy intro shows footage from LarryBoy and the Bad Apple and LarryBoy and the Cape-Coat Caper, along with this episode.
- Alfred is seen with the same newspaper from previous episodes.
- The statue in Mayor Blueberry's office is the same one seen in Buckingham Palace in Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler.
- The park is re-used from Celery Night Fever. Oscar can be seen reprising his role as the ice cream vendor as well.
- The movie posters at the theater, as well as the "Adventures of Squash and Stretch" sign, are reused from the previous LarryBoy episode.
- One of the Bumblyburg citizens is actually one of the backup singers from Gated Community, who has also appeared in a few other previous episodes.
- LarryBoy's line "I can't see anything!" had been previously uttered in The Star of Christmas.
- Some of LarryBoy's exclamations in this episode are taken from several previous episodes. One of them also plays twice, first when LarryBoy enters Awful Alvin's lair, and again when he is first shown in the Larry Cave with his angry eyebrow attached to him.
- The verse that Alfred quotes is reused from a few earlier episodes.
- Alfred telling LarryBoy to push the yellow button is likely a callback to his first two episodes.
- An instrumental rendition of The LarryBoy Theme Song is heard at the end of the episode.
Real-World References[]
- The Angry Eyebrow ripping the Hot Air Balloon causing it to fly out of control is similar to the Albatoss doing it to Mario's hot air balloon in the Super Mario Bros. Super Show episode, "Raiders of the Lost Mushroom".
- The alarm that beeps in the LarryPlane after it crashes into the hot air balloon sounds very much like that of WALL-E from the 2008 Disney/Pixar film of the same name. This was also used for the Underminer's machine in another Disney/Pixar film, Incredibles 2 as well as the following Disney/Pixar film, Lightyear where Buzz Lightyear falls into the mountain and crash lands the turnip while escaping on T'kani Prime.
- The music LarryBoy listens to while training is a parody of the Survivor song "Eye of the Tiger." This song was previously referenced in Samson's Bad Hair Day.
- LarryBoy mentions Auntie Em, a character from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
