Phil Vischer: Now, you noticed there was no theme song or countertop. Some people asked why, and it was because the first one, um, Fib from Outer Space! Because it was so much more intense and dramatic than a typical VeggieTales episode, some people said, "That's too scary for my kids." And so, he had to differentiate this so they would know, "Okay, if you didn't like the first one, if you thought it was too scary for your kids, you're not gonna like this one either. And I wanted to make it look less like another VeggieTales episode, I actually thought about taking VeggieTales off the box.
Mike Nawrocki: Really?
Phil Vischer: But that was going too far! Too far.
(during the crowd scene)
Phil: Hear him. See what he said?
Mike: Oh yeah.
Phil: "I heard there are teenagers inside him that know karate!"
Mike: (simultaneously) And know karate.
Phil: See, it was a Power Rangers reference. Nobody got that because they COULDN'T UNDERSTAND HIM! Man!
Mike: But we know.
(as the flowers bloom)
Mike: A instant replay of my first reaction to this, here it comes! (The Mother Weed's head turns into a flower and Mike screams)
Phil: (laughs) Whatever the metaphor works.
Mike: (laughs)

- Presumably, this commentary track was made during 2003 or 2004 as Mike and Phil mention Sport Utility Vehicle and Petunia Rhubarb.

- The SpongeBob episode Mike was talking about was Krab Borg. Though in the actual episode, it was about SpongeBob telling Squidward that Mr. Krabs is a robot, not SpongeBob telling rumors of Squidward's a robot.
