God is Bigger, also known as Bigger than the Boogie Man or God is Bigger than the Boogie Man, is a song from the VeggieTales episode Where's God When I'm S-Scared?.
Bob and Larry sing a song to Junior that God is the biggest thing in the universe, and you do not need to be afraid of monsters. Junior later started to sing it later.
The Boyz in the Sink later did their own version of the song in 2006.
Lyrics
Bob:
You were lying in your bed.
You were feeling kind of sleepy.
But you couldn't close your eyes because the room was getting creepy.
Larry:
Were those eyeballs in the closet?
Was that Godzilla in the hall?
Bob:
There was something big and hairy casting shadows on your wall.
Now your heart is beating like a drum.
Your skin is getting clammy.
There's a hundred tiny monsters jumping right into your jammies!
What are you going to do?
Junior:
I'm going to call the police.
Bob:
No. You don't need to do anything.
Junior:
What? Why?
Bob:
Because... God is bigger than the boogie man.
He's bigger than Godzilla or the monsters on TV.
Oh, God is bigger than the boogie man and He's watching out for you and me.
Junior:
So when I'm lying in my bed
and the furniture starts creeping,
I'll just laugh and say "Hey! Cut that out!"
and get back to my sleeping
'cause I know that God's the biggest,
and He's watching all the while.
So when I get scared, I'll think of Him
and close my eyes and smile!
Bob, Larry, and Junior:
God is bigger than the boogie man.
He's bigger than Godzilla or the monsters on TV.
Oh, God is bigger than the boogie man,
And He's watching out for you and me.
Monster #1:
So are you frightened?
Junior:
No, not really!
Monster #2:
Are you worried?
Junior:
Not a bit!
I know whatever's gonna happen, that God can handle it!
Phil Winklestein:
I'm sorry that I scared you when you saw me on TV.
Junior:
Well that's okay, cause now I know that God is taking care of me!
Everyone:
God is bigger than the boogie man.
He's bigger than Godzilla and the monsters on TV.
Oh, God is bigger than the boogie man,
and He's watching out for you and me.
Junior:
One more time!
Everyone:

Fun Facts
Trivia
- The eyes popping out from the closet was animated by Robert Ellis.
- This was the first song ever written for the series, even before the theme song was made.
- Phil's inspiration for the song came from the Wee Sing video series, which ran from the 1980's to the mid 1990's.
- The reprise of the song can be featured in Very Silly Songs!, Bob & Larry’s Campfire Songs, Sing-Alongs: I Can Be Your Friend, and the Very Veggie Silly Stories episode, Try, Try Again.
- This instrumental version can be heard in the end credits, the 1998 Lyrick Studios trailer for Dave and the Giant Pickle, and the end credits for the compilation release of Heroes of the Bible!: Lions, Shepherds and Queens (Oh My!), although that song is not sung in the video.
- When Phil Vischer first sung the song to his wife, she thought that the song was too simple to even be a song.
- This was first song to be worked on by Big Idea's music composer Kurt Heinecke.
- In the 1998 reprint of VeggieTunes, the 2004 remaster of Very Silly Songs!, and the 15th anniversary of Where's God When I'm S-Scared?, Phil Winklestein's vocals were added in the first chorus of the reprise.
- In VeggieTales Live! Sing Yourself Silly, Phil Winklestein is replaced by Pa Grape. Additionally, Phil's line "I'm sorry that I scared you when you saw me on TV." is replaced by Pa saying "I'm sorry you were frightened by that monster in your dream."
- In the later live shows, Mr. Lunt would be there singing with Phil Winklestein's vocals. The human performer would also do Larry's, the Monsters', and Phil Winklestein's parts.
- Shama Memra recorded a Trap Remix for the VeggieTales Remix episode Courage.
Goofs
- While not a goof, near the end of the song, the head of Junior's dinosaur toy can be seen next to Larry, although it's easy to see why it looks like an off model closet monster.
- In the remastered version of this song's reprise, Phil Winklestein's voice is heard during the first chorus, although his mouth doesn't move at all during that part.
- In the album version of this song, Bob and Junior's voices are both lower-pitched during their dialogue.
