Forgiveness Brings the Fixing is the thirteenth episode of The VeggieTales Show, which teaches a lesson in forgiveness. It was originally released on Yippee on January 1, 2021, but was removed a few days later. The episode was re-released later that month on January 31.
Plot[]
Larry wants to play his new kazoo in the show, but his kazoo is broken. Junior and Laura are determined to do their space show but it goes horribly wrong and spoils their friendship. It seems that so many things are breaking on the Veggie set. Pa Grape suggests the story of the Prodigal Son to learn about how to fix broken friendships. Trivia[]
- This is the first episode for several things:
- The first episode to feature Junior since Being Gentle Makes You Great.
- The first episode to have Phil Vischer voice Mr. Nezzer since Veggies in Space: The Fennel Frontier.
- Phil stated in a tweet that he recorded his lines for a few episodes due to David Mann being unavailable. Exactly how many episodes will have Phil's voice remains unconfirmed.
- The first episode to be released in 2021.
- The first episode to be released the day after the previous episode, albeit originally.
- The first episode where Bob introduces the first segment since The Best Christmas Gift.
- The first episode to have Bob play a part in the show since Patience Takes Practice.
- The first episode to have a segment hosted by Mr. Lunt during the break since When Being Good Means Giving Up, and the first episode in which he performs a Silly Song of his own since Donuts for Benny from Saint Nicholas: A Story of Joyful Giving.
- It is also the first episode to have a Silly Song performed by someone other than Larry since Best Friends Forever from The Penniless Princess.
- The first episode to have Petunia narrate a story.
- The first episode released during the time American president Joe Biden was in office.
- This is the third episode to have been released early on Yippee, with A Lifetime Supply of Joy and The Power of Love preceding it.
- This is the final episode to date to credit Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki as creators.
- This was the eighteenth episode in production, while it was the thirteenth released.
- This episode was officially released exactly 23 years after the original VeggieTown Values VBS curriculum and 17 years after the Orlando premiere of An Easter Carol.
- This is the second time when the story of the Prodigal Son is told. The first time was in The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's.
- This time, however, they tell the story more faithfully (probably due to the shortness of the original tale, as Larry mentioned in the former).
Remarks[]
- Bob acts like this is his first time playing a part in a show, when it's actually his third.
- The "A Lesson in" subtitle does not appear on the episode's title card.
Goofs[]
- When Mr. Lunt sprays Jerry with the relationship glue, there are no sound effects. After a second, a spritzing sound is played instead of a spraying sound.
- When Jimmy says "It's this stuffq", his mouth is frozen.
- Throughout Forgiveness, there are several moments where the characters' mouths are out of sync with the lyrics.
