Fun Facts
Explanations
- A carburetor is a device that is used to control fuel and air into an internal combustion engine.
Remarks
- Although not a goof, in "There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea," Jean-Claude calls Phillipe his own name.
- At the end of "Erie Canal," Pa Grape stated that Sal is on his foot, but as a grape, he has no feet.
- The children are the same on Bob and Larry's Backyard Party: Leah Peasall, Allie Smith, Hannah Reddick, Maggie, Dale & Jacob Richardson, and Graham Keen.
Inside References
- When Scooter expresses his disbelief of the Pirates not getting out and seeing the world more, Larry retorts that they have seen "movie-star manatees, giant pickles, vikings who knit potholders, and even cebús."
- Between Modern Major General and The Ballad of Jonah, Pa Grape acknowledges Archibald's portrayal as Jonah.
- The Ballad of Jonah in tune to Gilligan's Island theme would likely be a reference to Larry's Lagoon, which is also a parody of Gilligan's Island.
Real-World References
- Lassie is a fictional female Rough Collie dog who originated from the 1954 television series of the same name.
- The Ballad of Jonah uses the same tune as the Gilligan's Island theme song.
- My Ducky Lies Over the Ocean is a parody of the traditional Scottish folk song, My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean.
- The Barber of Seville is an opera buffa in two acts composed by Gioachino Rossini with an Italian libretto by Cesare Sterbini. A short loosely based on the opera, animated by Ron Smith, was produced in 1999, but was not released to the public until four years later, with the release of The Wonderful World of Auto-Tainment!.
Fast Forward
- "There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea," "Modern Major General," and "Erie Canal" were later animated for "The Wonderful World of Auto-Tainment!".
- An instrumental version of Erie Canal was later heard in the teaser trailer for Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler and the PS2 version of the LarryBoy and the Bad Apple video game. It would also be heard on the promo for A Very Veggie Easter, Worship Songs, and the 2006 reprint of Are You My Neighbor?, which can only be found on the Family Fun Event disc for the former episode.
- Larry would later say "I'm staying right here" again.
