Trivia[]
- This is the first episode of a few things:
- The first time Mr. Lunt does animal translations twice in an episode as opposed to doing it just once.
- The first episode to feature Barbara Manatee since The One and Only You!, although she is featured in the episode's song.
- The first time Mr. Nezzer and Dr. Flurry interact with each other.
- This is the last episode of several things:
- The last episode to be released in 2022.
- The last episode to feature Mr. Nezzer until Respect (not counting the song featured in Making Right Choices).
- The last episode to feature Dr. Flurry until Taking Care of the Earth (not counting a mention in Making Right Choices).
- The last episode to have Mr. Lunt translate more than one type of animal (as well as not having some of his animal friends be named) until Taking Care of the Earth.
- The last episode to not have the real-life kid's location be acknowledged until Hospitality.
- The last episode to feature the ringtone until Curiosity. It is also the last episode to not have the featured song be mentioned by name until said episode.
- The last episode to use the phrase "commercial break" until Respect.
- The last episode to not end with Bob recapping or mentioning a Bible story or verse until Loyalty.
- The last episode in which Petunia fully interacts with a real-life kid (though she would still do so for brief moments in later episodes). It is also the last time she explicitly refers to kids as such until Being Responsible.
- This episode was released exactly 28 years after God Wants Me to Forgive Them!?! and the VHS re-release of Where’s God When I’m S-Scared?
- The topic of faithfulness was previously discussed in the VeggieTales in the House episode, Puppies and Guppies, and The VeggieTales Show episode, Little Things Matter.
Inside References[]
- This episode is considered to be a follow-up to the previous episode, as it takes place in a zoo, which happened to be Dr. Flurry’s secret project in that episode. His appearance in this episode is further proof.
- Petunia stating that faithfulness is important in the Bible is very similar to what she said in another episode about faithfulness.
Real-World References[]
- The name of Mr. Nezzer's zoo, Drastic Park, could be a possible reference to Jurassic Park.
- This episode’s title might be a reference to the lyric “faithful friends who are dear to us” from the popular Christmas song Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
- The voice used for the Brain-Binky Thought Translation Pacifier is a stock text-to-speech voice that originates from text2speech.org and is commonly used in many videos.
- Dr. Timothy Tock is very likely inspired by the children's nursery rhyme, Hickory Dickory Dock.
