- It is most likely located between the states of California and Arizona, due to them being responsible for building several national landmarks in Arizona (e.g., the Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert, etc.), and the fact that Moe and the children of Little Joe had to walk across Death Valley, which is in eastern California.
- It is very clearly meant to be based on Egypt from the Biblical accounts of Joseph and Moses.
- It is likely named after Dodge City, Kansas, an important city during the Cowboy Era.
