Dial 'M' for Mess Up (originally released as Dial M for Mercy) is the fifth book in the Mess Detectives series. It features a lesson in showing mercy.
It was originally released on July 25, 2005 and later re-released on August 23, 2013.

- The title is a parody of the 1954 crime thriller film, "Dial M for Murder".
- The topic of mercy was previously discussed in both Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie and the 3-2-1 Penguins! episode Oh, Mercy!.
- The re-released version of this book was released exactly 15 years after both More of Bob and Larry's Favorite Stories! and the 1998 reprints of Rack, Shack and Benny and Dave and the Giant Pickle.
