"I am King Darius, I've had a dream, and now I'm feeling rather frightend and I wish someone would tell me what it means!"
— Lyrics from the King Darius Suite

Darius I (c. 550 – 486 BCE), also known as Darius the Great, was the third king of the Persian Achaemenid Empire. He ruled the empire at its peak, when it included much of West Asia, the Caucasus, parts of the Balkans (Thrace-Macedonia and Paeonia), most of the Black Sea coastal regions, parts of the North Caucasus, Central Asia, as far as the Indus Valley in the far east, and portions of north and northeast Africa including Egypt, Libya and Sudan. He seized the throne of Babylon following the assassination of Belshazzar, the last native king of Babylon.

In He is played by Archibald Asparagus in Where's God When I'm S-Scared? and Jimmy Gourd in Samson's Bad Hair Day.
