Remarks[]

Inside References[]

  • This episode has some similarities with A Thankful Heart is a Happy Heart:
    • Both are the fifth episodes of their respective seasons.
    • Both have different characters other than Bob and Larry as hosts (in this case, Junior and Laura). The only difference is that they join Bob and Larry in hosting the podcast (at least in the same location) rather than replace them or host alongside them in different locations.
    • Both have a song composed by Christopher Davis.
  • Larry microwaving popcorn at the beginning of the episode is a possible callback to Taking Care of the Earth.
  • The fact that hummingbirds can fly backwards has been previously acknowledged by Mr. Lunt in It's Cool to Be Kind.
  • Larry guessing that Dr. Flurry can see superheroes flying around with jetpacks with his telescope may be an indirect reference to S-Cape and Junior Jetpack, two superheroes who can do just that.
  • Dr. Flurry talking about how God made all the stars in the sky may be a callback to Tales from the Crisper.
  • Professor Yeuseph Khalil shares his last name with a certain caterpillar/worm character.
  • The second verse that Bob quotes is re-used from The Wonderfulness of Wisdom.
  • Clifford, from the Snails-R-Us commercial, has a similar name and voice to Cliff from the BBQ Toothpaste commercial in Forgiveness.
  • At the end of the episode, Larry states that he loves playing tubas, which makes sense considering that he has played the tuba a few times.

Real-World References[]

  • Snails-R-Us, specifically its name, is a likely parody of the toy retail company Toys "R" Us.
    • The commercial also brings up snail races occurring at the Daytona International Speedway, which is possibly a reference to the 2013 DreamWorks film, Turbo.
  • Larry's line "Why tuba, or why not tuba? That's the question, Bob" is an obvious reference to a quote from William Shakespeare's Hamlet.
    • This line, and the play in general, were previously parodied in Omelet.
