First Bob design | 1992-1999 | From VeggieTales Promo: Take 38 to VeggieTales Christmas Spectacular! |
In Dave and the Giant Pickle his a brighter shade of red than usual, while in The Toy That Saved Christmas through Madame Blueberry he is a lighter shade of red than before. Starting with The End of Silliness?, Bob is less shiny. Tim Hodge often jokes that he calls him "Strawberry Bob", in reference to his ability to stretch his body out into a shape that's similar to a strawberry's during the theme song. Similarly, Brian Roberts nicknamed Bob's old leaves as "Kermit hair". In several pieces of promo art from 1999, his leaves are given more detail and better alignment.
Second Bob design | 2000 | From VeggieTown Values: On the Job! to King George and the Ducky |
Same as Bob's first design, though his body is even less shiny than he was after the last switch, and his nose, eyes, and mouth are much smaller. His detailed leaves seen in the 1999 promo art are now present in the show as well. His nose is also slightly lower, and his eyes are slightly separated. He seems to lose most of his elasticity, due to the switch of software at the time.
Third Bob design | 2001-2014 | From Lyle the Kindly Viking to Beauty and the Beet |
Bob's facial features have regained their original size from the first design, although he gained a slightly bigger nose, and his body is slightly less wide. Now he is a brighter shade of red. Originally, his eyes were smaller but later were enlarged after the Jonah film.
Fourth Bob design | 2014-2017 | From VeggieTales in the House to VeggieTales in the City |
Like most of the cast, his eyes are slightly apart and gained blue iris. He also gained some eyebrows, just like his cartoon counterpart. His mouth is not a boolean-type mouth, it's built into the body if you can see closely. He also gained permanent visible teeth, which his previous two models only used a pair of teeth in some shots.
Fifth Bob design | 2019-2022 | The VeggieTales Show Only |
Mostly the same as his second design. His mouth is built into his body like the fourth design. His skin is much shinier, similar to that of a real tomato and somewhat reminiscent of his first design, and his stem is a a brighter shade of green. |
