Barber of Seville is an animation test that was animated by Ron Smith.

It's about an aardvark named Binky who tries to sing an opera in front of an audience, but doesn't get appreciated for his hard work.

Bravo, firgaro. Bravo, Bravissimo. Fortunatissimo(x3), Non Mancherà! La(x23) Fortunatissimo(x3), Non Mancheràaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Trivia

  • According to Keith Lango, this was done in 1999 to test different animation software systems for future VeggieTales episodes. This piece in particular was done in Alias|Wavefront Maya.
  • The vocals were done by Brian Roberts.
  • It was released in The Wonderful World of Auto-Tainment! It was also featured in Lessons from the Sock Drawer, and in the TV version of A Snoodle's Tale.
  • The design of Binky is based on The Angry Beavers.
  • In the original version, Ron used a recording of the original "Barber of Seville" song. The song itself was public domain, but since the recording used wasn't, they did their own version with Brian Roberts doing the vocals for Binky.
