Autodesk Maya (previously known as Alias|Wavefront Maya and Alias Maya) is a computer animation program, specializing in graphics and animation for video games, TV shows, and theatrical films.
Big Idea used the Autodesk Maya animation software from 1999 to 2003, replacing Softimage 3D as their main animation software. Phil Vischer states in a tweet that the reason for this change was because Softimage 3D stopped updating their softwares. Since 2003, outsourced animation companies used Autodesk Maya for future VeggieTales videos.
