Another Easter Day is the first song from An Easter Carol. It is later reprised. It is sung by the townspeople.

Lyrics

Original

Everyone: We sing this tune as flowers bloom and snow melts all away.

For Spring has sprung and with it comes another Easter day

Carrot Woman: The church bells ring and birdies sing.

A great cacophony.

Arthur Hollingshead: I celebrate with tea and cake

the British way for me.

Aha!

Little kid: I hunt and beg for colored eggs.

I fill my basket full.

Scallion Woman: That's my new hat. You give it back!

Now aren't I beautiful?

Laura Carrot: Thank you, Constable. We sure feel safe with you around!

Carrot Woman: Good morning, Constable.

Laura Carrot: Buy a lily for the orphans, O help us in our plight,

Just two pennies for a lily and we'll sleep inside tonight.

Rev. Gilbert, Mrs. Gilbert and Edmond: We sing this tune as rainbows bloom on eggs red, green and blue.

Mrs. Gilbert: Like colors in the windows when the sun comes shining through.

Moyer: The window here is mighty dear. A precious work of art,

But patience, lass will see this glass tomorrow when easter starts.

Rev. Gilbert and Edmond: The hope of easter's coming to shine forth in the morn.

It is coming now to bring us the gift of life reborn!

Reprise

Everyone: We sing this tune as flowers bloom and snow melts all away.

For Spring has sprung and with it comes another Easter day.

The birdies sing and church bells ring, announcing our New Birth!

We celebrate, the joyous date of heaven on Earth.

The hope of easter's coming to shine forth in the morn.

It is coming now to bring us the gift of life reborn!

Trivia

  • This is the final VeggieTales song to be animated entirely at Big Idea.
  • There are a few differences between pre-production of the song and the final product:
    • Archibald's line in the song was originally going to be sung by The Banker, who would have been voiced by Ron Smith.
    • In the script, the woman whose hat is being used as a basket was originally meant to be the mother of the kid hunting for Easter eggs.
      • Also, the woman's first line "That's my new hat, you give it back!" was slightly different (and having its order reversed compared to the final episode), and she was going to say "...or I'll call the constable!" instead of "Now aren't I beautiful?"
    • Before it shows Laura selling lilies for the orphanage, there would've been a shot of Ebenezer walking by her, but was most likely cut due to time constraints.
    • The woman who says good morning to the Constable (Jerry Gourd) was originally going to congratulate him on a medal he had won at some point before the song.
    • The second half was also originally going to end after Moyer's part of the song, with Reverend and Edmund Gilbert immediately noticing Ebenezer Nezzer after they are shown putting up the letters for the sign of St. Bart's Church.
      • Speaking of which, Reverend and Edmund's part was also going to be sung by the townsfolk and after Moyer notices Ebenezer.
