Alchemist is the son to Mother Pearl. He became evil when he tried to win a science contest and made a project too evil to allow himself to win. He then sulked by himself thinking that he lost the trophy that was rightfully his and went more bad than he ever was...
The Alchemist and his mother decided to take over Bumblyburg.

According to Tom Bancroft, while he is smart on scheming plans, his mother is the real mastermind behind it.

- It's never stated how he gained his robotic arms. Though it is possible he built them himself as an baby.
- In the original concept art, he was going to have a goatee.
- In some angles, he resembles a bit like George Jetson from "The Jetsons", while his voice is similar to Harold Smith from "The Powerpuff Girls".
